What have you enjoyed the most about working from home? During this lockdown period and working from home?

I have enjoyed being able to focus on a lot of processes, procedures and having the time to implement these within our company which is often neglected due to the day to day running of the business.

How did you build camaraderie and stay connected during lockdown?

Lockdown has also taught me that we can stay connected even though we may not be able to meet in person we still managed to meet face to face through internet platforms such as ZOOM on a regular basis.

What do you envision as the new normal for construction professionals?

I am hoping that we have realized how volatile our industry, even more so the human race is and that we should appreciate our people and our clients. Based on this the new normal for me would be a more stream lined approach to meetings using platforms like ZOOM etc, minimizing the rush, and therefore decreasing risk of mistakes and safety of others. The new normal would also include more educational seminars to our staff regarding heath and safety, hygiene, and staff upliftment.

What are your top 3 tips for staying resilient during the current situation?

1. Stay connected to your team (staff), your clients and to what is happening in our industry and around the world.
2. Minimize unnecessary costs as soon as possible.
3. Start planning your company work strategy, marketing and health and safety regulations for the new normal.
